Terms of Service

Last updated: 16 July 2026

These Terms of Service explain the basic rules for using SayRec. By using SayRec, you agree to these terms.

1. What SayRec does

SayRec is a simple online voice recording tool. It lets you record audio in your browser, preview the recording, download it as an MP3 file, or optionally upload it to SayRec to create a shareable link.

2. No account required

SayRec does not require you to create an account. You can use the recorder, download recordings, and optionally upload recordings for sharing without signing in.

3. Local recording and downloads

SayRec records and encodes your audio in your browser first. If you download the MP3 file without sharing it, the recording is saved to your device and is not intentionally uploaded to or stored by SayRec.

You are responsible for saving your own recordings. If you close or refresh the page before downloading or sharing your recording, it may be lost.

4. Uploaded recordings and share links

If you choose to share a recording, SayRec uploads and stores the MP3 file and creates a shareable link. Anyone who has that link may be able to listen to the recording.

Share links are not intended to be a secure or private storage system. Do not upload recordings that you would not want someone else to access if the link is shared, guessed, forwarded, or otherwise discovered.

Uploaded recordings are currently kept online indefinitely unless they are removed by SayRec or deleted following a valid deletion request. This may change in the future. If a recording is important, you should download and keep your own copy.

5. Deletion credentials

When you upload a recording, SayRec creates a deletion credential associated with that recording. A hashed version is stored by SayRec, while the plain credential may be saved in your browser’s local storage.

The locally stored credential may help SayRec recognize and authenticate deletion requests from the same browser. It may not be displayed to you, and clearing browser data, changing browsers, or changing devices may remove the locally stored copy.

If you want an uploaded recording removed, you may contact us. We may ask for additional information or use a locally stored deletion credential to help verify the request. We do not guarantee that we can verify every deletion request.

6. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the audio you record, upload, download, and share using SayRec. You must make sure you have the right to record, upload, use, and share any audio you create or submit.

You agree not to use SayRec to record, upload, share, or distribute content that is unlawful, abusive, harmful, threatening, harassing, defamatory, invasive of privacy, infringing, or otherwise inappropriate.

You should not use SayRec to upload private, sensitive, confidential, or non-consensual recordings.

7. Removal of content

We may remove uploaded recordings, disable links, limit uploads, block requests, or change how uploaded recordings are stored at any time, especially if we believe the service is being misused or if we need to protect SayRec, its users, or others.

8. No professional advice

SayRec is a general-purpose recording tool. It is not designed for emergency, legal, medical, professional, official, evidentiary, archival, or regulated recording needs.

9. Availability and changes

SayRec is provided as a free tool. We may change, pause, limit, or discontinue any part of the service at any time, including recording, uploading, sharing, downloading, storage, deletion, and contact features.

We do not guarantee that uploaded recordings or share links will remain available permanently.

10. No warranty

SayRec is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee that the service will always work, that recordings will always be successful, that uploads will always complete, that deletion requests will always succeed, or that downloaded or uploaded files will be suitable for every use.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, SayRec is not responsible for any loss, damage, failed recording, failed upload, failed download, deleted file, unavailable share link, lost deletion credential, unauthorized access through a shared link, or other issue resulting from your use of the service.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date on this page.
